1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Perennitas Digital ("Service"), operated by Quills Consultancy LTD (UK Company Registration: 16468230), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you do not have permission to access the Service.

2. Description of Service

Perennitas Digital provides a zero-knowledge digital legacy preservation service that allows users to:

• Create encrypted digital time capsules
• Set time-locks for future access (minimum 6 months)
• Store files securely for 50+ years using AWS Glacier Deep Archive
• Generate heir keys for designated recipients
• Ensure preservation through one-time payment model

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

To use our Service, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old
• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

3.2 Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for all activities under your account and for safeguarding your master encryption keys. We cannot recover lost encryption keys due to our zero-knowledge architecture.

4. Capsule Creation and Management

4.1 Time-Lock Features

• Minimum unlock time: 6 months from creation
• Maximum unlock time: 50 years
• 30-day access window after unlock date
• Automatic expiration if not accessed within window

4.2 Upload Period

After payment, you have 30 days to upload files to your capsule. The capsule automatically seals after this period, and no further modifications are allowed.

4.3 Content Restrictions

You may not upload content that:

• Violates any laws or regulations
• Infringes on intellectual property rights
• Contains malware or harmful code
• Exceeds storage limits (varies by pricing tier)

5. Pricing and Payment

5.1 One-Time Payment Model

Our service operates on a one-time payment basis. Pricing is determined by:

• Storage duration (time until unlock)
• Total file size
• Selected pricing tier

5.2 Payment Processing

All payments are processed through Stripe. By making a payment, you agree to Stripe's terms of service. Payments are non-refundable once a capsule is sealed.

5.3 Refund Policy

Refunds are only available within the 30-day upload period and before the capsule is sealed. Once sealed, capsules cannot be refunded due to the long-term storage commitment.

6. Zero-Knowledge and Encryption

Our Service operates on a zero-knowledge principle:

• All files are encrypted on your device before upload
• We cannot decrypt or access your capsule contents
• You are solely responsible for maintaining your encryption keys
• Lost keys result in permanent data loss
• Heir keys provide limited access without exposing master keys

7. Heir Keys and Access

Heir keys allow designated recipients to access capsules without an account:

• Generated after capsule sealing
• Provide read-only access during the unlock window
• Cannot be regenerated if lost
• Should be shared securely with intended recipients

8. Data Retention and Deletion

8.1 Long-Term Storage

Sealed capsules are stored in AWS Glacier Deep Archive for the specified duration (up to 50 years). We use enterprise-grade infrastructure designed for 99.999999999% durability.

8.2 Crypto-Shredding

You may permanently delete capsules through crypto-shredding, which deletes the encryption keys. This action is irreversible and results in permanent data loss.

9. Intellectual Property

You retain all rights to content you upload. By using our Service, you grant us only the limited rights necessary to store and deliver your encrypted content according to these Terms.

10. Disclaimers and Limitations

10.1 Service Availability

While we strive for 99.9% uptime, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Service. Scheduled maintenance and unforeseen circumstances may cause temporary unavailability.

10.2 No Warranty

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will meet all your requirements or be error-free.

10.3 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Quills Consultancy LTD shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, revenue, or profits.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Quills Consultancy LTD and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action must be brought in the courts located in London, United Kingdom.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be notified via email at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

14. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account for violations of these Terms. Upon termination:

• Access to unsealed capsules will be revoked
• Sealed capsules will remain stored until their unlock date
• No refunds will be provided for sealed capsules
